First Day of First Grade

Today was an exciting day for our family. As Jacob continues to repeat, "Mommy, Mira is not in Ms. Sigmon's class anymore, right? She is in Mrs. Blake's class, right?" Right, Jacob!

You might notice that the poses have a remarkable resemblance to those taken on the first day of Kindergarten, including a view of each child, a view of each backpack, a beautiful sibling hug, and poses in front of the school.

My little jester at least allowed me to capture some pictures, but of course he does so in his own style.

Our walking school bus now includes classmates, as Lillian and Katya are in our class this year. We often walked with them last year, but now we can include them in a picture since they are in our class.

We had to walk to every desk to look for Mira's name. At the last table, we found it! After saying goodbye to Mira, Jacob was finally allowed to grab a treat from a table that greeted us as we walked in the door (the front door, nonetheless, not the Kindergarden entry). Mira was too excited to make it to her class to be stopped by a table of sugar filled goodies. Jacob was told if he waited, he could choose one thing to eat on the walk home.
