Mira's school was closed on Go Texan Day, so Mommy had planned a day of activities with her two angels, which did not include running into this:
Being, the rational, responsible mother that I am, our plans were immediately scrapped. We pulled out of the traffic trying to get around the trail riders and drove so that my children could watch the full parade; nothing but the best for my children.
We still made it to Tot Shabbat in time to grab our own fire engine just before lighting the shabbat candles (okay, we also made it there in time for all the songs and entertainment, but the fire engine was so much more fun).
Most of the other children were in their purim costumes, but this mother was just proud of getting her two children out the door and decided to leave that challenge for another day.
The next day we went to shul for "A Rodeo Purim." Daddy wore his Dallas Cowboys hat and shirt, as any good cowboy would do. Mommy wore a cowgirl skirt with a shirt that read "I dig cowboys, and cowboys dig me," as only this mommy would do. Mira wore her angel wings from Gram and Pop, and Jacob was the best looking two month old tiger you've ever seen (Does the costume look familiar?).
Family picture!
Here's to you, Cupcake!
Again, shouting while Haman's name is called (see A Freilichen Purim)
Fun with the grogger (yes, at the appropriate time)
Costume parade!
